“I never realized that I needed or wanted a postpartum doula. Part of me is grateful that my labor went the way it did so that I was able to recognize this need and want. I also believe it helped mold me into the parent I am. Now I see that no matter how one’s labor goes, postpartum care for the mother is so wildly important. In order for me to provide nourishment and love and attention to our baby, I needed that from you (in addition to the rest of my tribe), as each of you provided for me so differently and in such valuable ways that I really could not have done without any of you.

I loved all of the ceremonies and how whenever you came over there was instantly a space just for me to process and heal and talk or do whatever felt good in that moment. It’s so incredible how quickly our love and friendship blossomed. You truly have a way with people. I am so grateful to my friend for leading me to you and having you as part of my postpartum journey. I will always remember that ‘hygiene is not self care,’ nourishing your body and soul are so important when caring for yourself and your child (specifically the watering the plant metaphor) and that everything can and should be beautiful if you take a moment to just observe and add a little bit of dried flowers or butter or honey or salt (!!) lol.

Thank you for these last 6 weeks. The nourishing food, the bodywork, the constant attention to my needs and desires, the openness to process whatever I was feeling and of course, your innate ability to make even the simplest things oh so beautiful.

And - your food deserves its own paragraph of praise - as you are thee best cook/ chef/ creator in the kitchen! We were blown away by every single thing you made for us (in both taste and presentation). Truly remarkable.” -R.S.

TESTIMONIALS

“I am so grateful for Francesca’s tender care and nourishment after the birth of my daughter.

I knew I wanted to gift myself healing meals and attention, but Francesca surpassed my expectations of what postpartum care might look like.

Her food was simply delicious (another element that surpassed my expectations!). It was prepared with love, only the best in season organic ingredients, and real thought and care went into what my body needed during this time.

It bears repeating just how good the food was (I will never forget the goji berry hormone bar!), and it was so elegantly prepared and presented. Everything comes in glass containers, carried in a cotton canvas bag, accompanied by a gorgeous handwritten note outlining the meals and various ingredients (and often a stunning flower arrangement).

Francesca has the most wonderful energy. She is passionate about the work she provides, and puts real thought, care, and time into it all. You can tell she loves what she does and believes deeply in taking care of the birthing parent in this fragile, exciting, vulnerable, and expansive transition period.

I can’t speak highly enough about my experience working with Francesca. I am forever grateful for her services.” - H.S.

POSTPARTUM PACKAGE

Preparation, Integration, & the journey of Motherhood.

PREPARATION

It begins with postpartum preparation.

One in-person visit during pregnancy where we create your postpartum plan, get to know each other, build the foundation and trust that is a big part of my intimate method of care. You receive access to my postpartum guidance and resources.

“Feeling connected to your doula is as important as their technical knowledge. A lot of doulas know a lot of things, what you really need is to feel comfortable and connected.”

We will explore the importance of specific foods and incorporating joy into your daily routine through mindful practices. These simple yet elegant methods are designed to be sustainable for my clients.

I present a road map tailored to your postpartum self-care and planning needs. By harnessing the philosophies of functional nutrition, my aim is to equip you with the resources, wisdom, and support necessary to navigate your path towards a confident and embodied Motherhood. This holistic knowledge and educational grounding is designed to empower your journey and illuminate the potential inside you. As you step into Motherhood, my goal is to help you uncover your deepest confidence and strength.

By creating an environment that's both nurturing and well-structured, a fresh Mother blossoms into her new role. It's a bit like planting a seed in a well-tended garden - we give it the right care and watch it thrive. There's this beautiful process where you start to see your vulnerabilities not as weaknesses, but as parts of yourself that you're learning to understand. And in that understanding, there's a power that comes from embracing the new chapter of Motherhood. It's a journey, unique to each of us, where resilience is the hero of our story.

+

One Mother Blessing Ceremony, for the Mother-to-be, to celebrate the passage into Motherhood. It’s a gathering filled with love and support, focusing not just on the impending arrival of a new life, but on the moments of transformation that wait for the Mother-to-be. It's a warm, intimate event that shifts the spotlight from the commercial rush of a baby shower to the profound journey of Motherhood. It's about preparing the heart and soul for the wonders and challenges of nurturing a new life. It's about strength, sacredness, and coming together.

Usually held during the last weeks of pregnancy. I help organize the ceremony. I provide the flowers and herbs for the foot wash and mandala. We set new intentions for this new journey of Motherhood. We release the maiden and welcome the Mother. I also prepare a special snack and tea for everyone in attendance.

Ceremony speaks to us on an ancestral level - it taps into our limbic system and calms our nervous system and connects us to an innate wisdom.

INTEGRATION

In home visits which consist of:

Once or twice weekly for six weeks. Each session is 2 to 3 hours depending on the work I will be providing.

It includes a custom postpartum basket made in reflection of our initial pregnancy visit. This basket includes organic body oil, handmade herbal sitz bath, custom tea, wool socks, gifts, and more new Mother necessities.

I bring homemade meals and snacks to each visit which includes a tea or warm drink and fresh flowers. I provide treatments and rituals centered around self-care and birth integration, such as, abhayanga style massage, bellybinding, sitz bath, foot soak, herbal bath, scalp massage. As well as, infant guidance and assistance with techniques for feeding, diapering, bathing, and soothing.

I have learned that my presence can go far in helping women come into her new role of Mother. I've found a deep connection in harnessing the power of beauty, nourishment, and ceremonies to facilitate this transition - offering a sense of grounding, comfort, and healing to not just the physical being, but also the ethereal self.

“By using beautiful ingredients that not only heal physically because of their chemical constituents but also from the energies they radiate, we can see the magic of nature work, we can have greater trust for the ebb and flow of Motherhood.”

I will step into the messy sacredness that is a growing family with calmness, sensitivity, and understanding.

CLOSING CEREMONY

For our last session, during the sixth week, I perform the Closing of the Bones, a postpartum ceremony to honor your body, femininity, and to close the energy of the birth portal to make way for healing and transition. It begins with an herbal bath, followed by anointing the body with warming oils, and gentle massage. A sacred healing space is created in your home (or outside), where I tightly wrap your body using rebozos. The process stimulates blood flow which moves fluids, balances hormones, cleans, renews, and promotes the release of emotions.

This sacred ritual is a gentle nod of appreciation to your body for the incredible journey it has undertaken. It's like a loving whisper, signaling your hormones to find their balance and your energy channels to softly shut. By closing these natural cycles and fields of energy, your body finds its rhythm again—aligning your bones and muscles, boosting your blood flow, and melting away tension. This ritual is more than a sequence of actions—it's a deeply spiritual moment that invites you to look inward, heal, set new intentions, gather strength, and find closure after the miracle of childbirth.

This ceremony is a beautiful way to reconnect with your body, mind, and spirit. Allow the internal organs to settle in their proper position, align the spine, and close the pelvis.

“The drumbeat to the rhythm of my heart and its sound vibrated and reverberated through me. The sound my baby experienced for most of her life. I was reminded this was the sound of my mother’s heartbeat and the sound of all other mother’s heartbeats both here and in the past whose hearts have beat lovingly for their children.”
